This class is for LMTs who already hurt, or fear getting hurt, or want strong instruction in body mechanics.
- movement lessons– Learn to sense in your own body how to accurately support yourself. Learn how to sequence your movement so you don’t overload any one joint.
- individual feedback– I’ll help you customize your learning to fit the body you have. No shame, no blame, just good clear improvements. We take what you do well, and expand it. The principles are the same, but the techniques may look different in each body.
- partner exercises in table work- Guided explorations to improve your mechanics and connection. You will exchange useful, structured, feedback with your peers.
Fringe benefit: You will learn tips and tricks that you can teach your clients. Giving out self-care information is a great way to add to your sessions, and build lasting client relationships.
10 am-2 pm, 3 Mondays, June 3rd, June 10th, and June 24th. Downtown SLC.
(On June 17th, come visit me at the Utah Massage Championships, where I will be one of the judges).
About me-
Practicing full time since 1991, I’ve learned self care matters most. I spent many years getting post-graduate training in movement, and focused on combining structural bodywork with things I learned from studying dance, aikido, and yoga.
I’m a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Method practitioner and teacher, and have presented at the North American conference. In my private practice I regularly work with persons recovering from complex trauma, and I am writing a book on somatic approaches to trauma resolution.
